Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)

1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 5 minutes while you prepare the chicken.

Prepare the Chicken: Carefully slice each chicken breast horizontally, creating a pocket for the stuffing. Avoid cutting all the way through.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, half of the barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, bacon (if using), and salt and pepper. Mix well until you have a creamy filling.

Stuff the Chicken: Generously spoon the cheese mixture into each chicken pocket, making sure to fill them well but not overflowing.

Seal the Chicken: Use toothpicks to seal each pocket to keep the filling inside while cooking.

Prepare for Air Frying: Lightly coat the outside of the chicken breasts with olive oil spray and sprinkle a little more salt and pepper on top.

Air Fry the Chicken: Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Glaze with BBQ Sauce: In the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining barbecue sauce over the chicken to add a tangy glaze.

Rest and Serve: Once done, carefully remove the toothpicks, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
