Ingredients

4 large Russet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for extra heat)

Instructions

Begin by peeling the Russet potatoes and cutting them into even-sized fries (about 1/4 inch thick) to ensure uniform cooking.

Place the cut fries in a bowl and cover them with cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch (this step is crucial for crispiness).

After soaking, drain the water and pat the fries dry with paper towels—you want them as dry as possible.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried fries with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until the fries are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Place the seasoned fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overcrowded (you may need to do this in batches).

Cook the fries in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even cooking. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy.

Once done, remove the fries from the air fryer and immediately sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using. The heat from the fries will help melt the cheese slightly.

Toss the fries to distribute the cheese evenly, then garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Garlic Parmesan French Fries!
