Ingredients

4 cups water

4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves

1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1 cup evaporated milk (or coconut milk for a dairy-free option)

Ice cubes

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Star anise or crushed ice for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Boil Water: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the Thai tea leaves. Allow the tea to steep for about 15-20 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.

Strain the Tea: After steeping, strain the tea using a fine mesh sieve or tea strainer into a pitcher to remove the leaves. Add sugar to the hot tea and stir until dissolved. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

Prepare Glasses: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the cooled sweetened tea over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.

Add Milk: Gently pour evaporated milk or coconut milk over the tea in each glass. For a swirling effect, you can pour it over the back of a spoon.

Mix and Serve: If you prefer a sweeter taste, stir gently before drinking. Optionally, add a few star anise for extra flavor and visual appeal.

Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your refreshing Thai iced tea!
