Ingredients

4 large croissants

8 slices of deli ham

8 slices of Swiss cheese (or cheese of your choice)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.

Spread ½ tablespoon of Dijon mustard inside each croissant.

Layer 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese in each croissant, ensuring they are well packed.

Press the croissant gently to hold the filling in place.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the filled croissants on it, leaving space between them.

Brush the tops of the croissants with melted butter for a shiny finish.

Sprinkle a bit of freshly cracked black pepper over the top for added flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley for freshness.
