Ingredients

2 slices of sourdough or rustic bread

2 ounces of Brie cheese, sliced

1/4 cup fresh blackberries

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened

Pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the fresh blackberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Gently mash the blackberries with a fork to create a chunky sauce, and set aside.

Take one slice of bread and layer it with the sliced Brie cheese, spreading it evenly across the surface.

Spoon the blackberry balsamic mixture on top of the Brie, making sure to spread it out evenly for maximum flavor.

Place the second slice of bread on top to form a sandwich.

Spread the softened butter on the outside of both slices of bread. This will help create a golden, crispy texture while grilling.

Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet.

Grill for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then carefully flip the sandwich and grill for another 3-4 minutes, pressing down lightly with a spatula to ensure the Brie melts perfectly.

Once the cheese is gooey and both sides are crispy and browned, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.

Slice the sandwich in half and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.
