1 box chocolate cake mix

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

1/2 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix and cocoa powder. Stir until well mixed.

      Add the vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the dry ingredients. Mix until everything is just combined; be careful not to overmix. The batter will be thick.

        If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts until evenly distributed.

          Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

            Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

              Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                Once cooled, cut into squares and serve!
