Ingredients

2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 package refrigerated pie dough (2 crusts)

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping)

Whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Apple Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until the apples are well coated. Let sit for about 10 minutes to release juices.

Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the pie dough on a lightly floured surface. Using a round cutter (about 4 inches in diameter), cut out circles from the dough. You should get about 8 circles from the two crusts.

Assemble the Bombs: Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each dough circle. Drizzle a teaspoon of caramel sauce over the apples.

Seal the Bombs: Fold the dough over the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges tightly to seal, then crimp with a fork for added security.

Brush and Sprinkle: Place the filled bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give a golden finish, and sprinkle with coarse sugar.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bombs are puffed and golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle extra caramel sauce over the warm bombs and serve with whipped cream if desired.

                  Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 8

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the caramel apple pie bombs on a serving platter, drizzled with additional caramel sauce, and a dollop of whipped cream for an enticing display.
