1 large loaf of crusty Italian or French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

      Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place both halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
