Ingredients

1 French baguette, cut in half

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to create a garlic butter spread. Mix well until smooth.

Take the baguette halves and spread an even layer of the garlic butter on the cut sides of each half.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered baguette halves, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.

Place the prepared baguettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing into pieces.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves if using, and serve warm.
