Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 large onions, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for extra flavor)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon sugar

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, black pepper, and sugar. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare other ingredients.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch mixture. Set aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large frying pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the Onions and Peppers: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, garlic, ginger, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent and the peppers are tender-crisp.

Combine and Glaze: Return the beef to the pan, pour in the stir-fry sauce, and add sesame oil. Toss everything together, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef and vegetables well.

Serve: Serve the stir-fry over cooked jasmine rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor and crunch.
