Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

1 tablespoon cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.

Mix in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.

Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm it up, making it easier to shape.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon for rolling.

Once the dough is chilled, scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until thoroughly coated.

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges. They may appear slightly undercooked in the middle, but they will firm up as they cool.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
