Ingredients

1 pound flank steak

Salt and pepper to taste

8 slider buns

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 large tomato, sliced

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons cowboy butter (recipe below)

Cowboy Butter Ingredients:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Zest of 1 lemon

Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Cowboy Butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, garlic, parsley, chives, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined. Transfer to a piece of plastic wrap, shape it into a log, and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the flank steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side (or until desired doneness). Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Slice the Steak: After resting, slice the steak thinly against the grain. This will ensure tender bites for your sliders.

Assemble the Sliders: Cut the slider buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill for about 1-2 minutes. Spread a generous amount of cowboy butter on the bottom half of each slider bun.

Layer Ingredients: On each buttered bun, layer some sliced steak, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Top with the other half of the bun.

Melt the Cheese: If desired, place assembled sliders back on the grill for about 1-2 minutes to slightly melt the cheese and warm the sliders.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour (including chilling time for butter) | Servings: 8 sliders

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the sliders on a rustic wooden board, garnished with fresh herbs, alongside a small dish of extra cowboy butter for dipping. Enjoy!
