Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Once the cranberries begin to pop, lower the heat and stir in the sugar, orange zest, orange juice, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger.
Add the diced apple and pear to the saucepan and mix well.
Continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens and the cranberries have fully burst.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly.
For a smoother texture, use a hand mixer to blend the sauce to your desired consistency. Alternatively, leave it chunky for a more rustic feel.
Once cooled, transfer the sauce to a serving bowl or airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
Serve in a festive bowl, garnished with fresh cranberries and orange slices.
