Ingredients

2 large apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and cored

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup Mountain Dew soda (or any citrus soda)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Cut each apple into 8 wedges. You should have a total of 16 apple pieces.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.

Place one apple wedge at the widest end of each crescent triangle and roll it up tightly, sealing in the apple. Repeat until all apple wedges are wrapped.

Place each rolled dumpling in the prepared baking dish, arranging them in a single layer.

In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix well until it forms a smooth paste.

Pour the brown sugar mixture evenly over the dumplings in the baking dish.

Gently pour the Mountain Dew soda around the edges of the baking dish to create a bubbly sauce (do not pour over the dumplings directly).

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the apples are tender.

Once baked, let the dumplings cool for a few minutes before serving.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the dumplings warm with a scoop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top. Drizzle some of the buttery syrup from the dish over the dumplings for added flavor and a decadent touch. Enjoy!
