Ingredients

2 cups finely shredded green cabbage

1 cup carrots, grated

1/2 cup green onions, chopped

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil for frying

Garlic Sauce Ingredients:

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill)

Salt to taste

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped green onions.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Add the flour mixture to the vegetable bowl, followed by the beaten eggs. Mix thoroughly until the vegetables are coated and everything is combined.

Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the cabbage mixture into the skillet, flattening them slightly to form fritters.

Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

For the garlic sauce, combine the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt in a small bowl. Mix until smooth.

Serve the crispy cabbage fritters warm, drizzled with or alongside the garlic sauce for dipping.

                  Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 4

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the fritters on a platter, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh dill or chopped green onions, with a small bowl of garlic sauce in the center for dipping. Add a few lemon wedges for a pop of color.
