Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 cup chicken broth

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional toppings: sliced pickles, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, stirring well to coat the chicken and vegetables.

Mix in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and chicken broth. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency. If it becomes too thick, add a splash more chicken broth.

Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture generously onto the hamburger buns.

If desired, top with sliced pickles, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes for added freshness and flavor.

                      Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the sloppy joes with a side of potato chips or sweet potato fries, and garnish with fresh herbs for an added touch. Enjoy the vibrant and spicy flavors!
