Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

6 ounces sliced ham

6 ounces shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth it out and increase its size.

Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the entire surface of the pastry.

Layer the sliced ham evenly over the mustard, followed by an even sprinkle of the shredded cheese.

Season the filling with garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

Starting from one end, carefully roll the pastry tightly into a log.

Once rolled, use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels.

Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart to allow for puffing.

Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg to give them a golden, glossy finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.

Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 12 pinwheels

                          - Presentation Tips: Arrange the pinwheels on a large platter and serve with a side of dipping sauces like honey mustard or spicy ketchup for added flavor. Decorate the platter with fresh herbs for a touch of color.
