Ingredients

3 large egg whites

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup Jello powder (your choice of flavor)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a clean and dry mixing bowl, add the egg whites and cream of tartar. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat until the mixture becomes glossy and stiff peaks form.

Sprinkle the Jello powder into the meringue mixture, along with the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Gently fold the Jello powder in with a spatula until fully combined and the color is even.

Transfer the meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip or simply use a spoon to drop mounds onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the cookies are dry to the touch and easily lift off the parchment paper.

Turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside for an additional hour to cool and set.

Once cooled, remove the meringue cookies and store them in an airtight container to keep them crisp.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes | Servings: About 24 cookies

                    - Presentation Tips: For a fun display, stack the cookies in a clear glass jar or arrange them on a decorative plate garnished with fresh berries that match the Jello flavor for a colorful touch.
