Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 cup olive oil (plus more for drizzling)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried oregano

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and dried oregano.

Once the yeast mixture is ready, add it to the flour mixture along with 1/4 cup of olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

After the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet or a large cast-iron skillet. Press it out to fit the pan, creating dimples with your fingers.

In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Brush this mixture generously over the dimpled dough.

Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the dough.

Let the dough rest for an additional 15 minutes before placing it in the oven.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the bread is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and drizzle with a little olive oil if desired.

Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

                              - Presentation Tips: Serve the cheesy garlic bread warm, either sliced into squares or in wedges. Place it on a wooden serving board and garnish with extra parsley for a rustic touch. A small bowl of marinara sauce on the side for dipping can also add an extra layer of flavor!
