Ingredients

1 loaf of artisan sourdough or Italian bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

6 cloves fresh garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, creating two long pieces.

In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, fresh thyme, red pepper flakes (if using), and sea salt. Mix until well combined.

Spread the garlic herb butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread halves.

If you're using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it generously on top of the buttered bread.

Drizzle olive oil over the top for added richness and flavor.

Wrap each half in aluminum foil, ensuring the cut sides are facing up.

Place the wrapped bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Allow the bread to cool for a couple of minutes before slicing it into smaller pieces.

                      Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 6-8
