Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed (about 4 strawberries)

Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Pink or red sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Vanilla and Puree: Mix in the vanilla extract and the strawberry puree. Beat until well incorporated, giving a lovely pink hue to the batter.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and salt.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture. Stir until the dough comes together. It should be soft yet firm enough to hold its shape.

Chill the Dough: Flatten the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm it up.

Roll and Shape the Cookies: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking.

Cool and Decorate: Once baked, let the cookies cool on a wire rack. After cooling, dust with extra powdered sugar and sprinkle with pink or red sprinkles if desired.

Serve: Arrange the cookies on a decorative platter, or package them in a beautiful box for gifting.

Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 1 hr | Servings: 24 cookies

                        - Presentation Tips: Place the cookies in a heart-shaped box or a tiered tray adorned with fresh strawberries and mint leaves for a charming presentation.
