Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

¼ cup milk

¾ cup BBQ sauce (preferably honey-flavored)

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro) for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, and milk.

In a separate bowl, mix together ½ cup of BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Reserve about 2 tablespoons of the sauce for later use. Add the remaining sauce mixture to the meat mixture and combine thoroughly.

Transfer the meat mixture to the greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.

Spread the reserved BBQ sauce on top of the meatloaf for a glaze.

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh herbs before serving for an added pop of color.
