Ingredients

1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers

1 cup boiling water

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based, such as oat or almond)

2-3 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ice cubes

Lemon or lime slices, for garnish

Edible flowers (optional), for garnish

Instructions

Brew the Tea: Place the dried butterfly pea flowers in a teapot or heat-proof container and pour the boiling water over them. Steep for about 10-15 minutes until the tea is a deep blue color. Strain the flowers and let the tea cool.

Prepare the Milk Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined. If using plant-based milk, a frothing wand can create lovely foam.

Assemble the Iced Latte: Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the cooled butterfly pea flower tea over the ice until the glass is about one-third full.

Layering the Milk: Slowly pour the sweetened milk mixture over the back of a spoon into the glass, allowing it to layer gently with the tea for a beautiful two-tone effect.

Garnish and Serve: Add a slice of lemon or lime to the rim for a burst of citrus flavor. For an elegant touch, sprinkle some edible flowers on top. Stir before drinking to combine the flavors.
