Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1-2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust for spice level)

1/4 cup green onions, finely sliced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

Vegetable oil for frying

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Using your hands, form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) from the cheese mixture. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Set up a breading station: Place flour in one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.

Roll each cheese ball first in the flour, then coat with egg wash, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs until fully covered. Place back on the baking sheet.

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).

Carefully add the cheese balls to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Once golden, remove the balls from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Allow to cool slightly before serving.

                  Prep Time: 20 mins | Total Time: 40 mins | Servings: 4-6

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve warm on a platter, garnished with sliced jalapeños and a side of ranch or spicy dipping sauce for an added kick.
