Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (preferably lean)

4 cups green cabbage, shredded

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

Push the beef to one side of the skillet and add the sliced onion, cooking until translucent, about 3 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add the shredded cabbage and sliced bell pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine with the beef and onions. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the cabbage is wilted and slightly tender.

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Pour this sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture, stirring well to coat everything.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld, adjusting salt and pepper to taste.

Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
