Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 large egg

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

4 crusty hoagie rolls

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get around 12-15 meatballs.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. They don’t need to be cooked through at this point, as they'll finish cooking in the oven.

Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet, covering them completely. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.

Slice the hoagie rolls open, leaving one side hinged. Place the rolls on a baking sheet.

Using tongs, place 3-4 meatballs in each roll, spooning sauce over the top.

Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs in each roll.

Brush the outside of the rolls with a little olive oil for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before serving.

                        Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 40 min | Servings: 4

                          - Presentation Tips: Serve the subs with a side of crispy fries or a fresh garden salad. Garnish with extra parsley or a sprinkle of Parmesan on top for added flair!
