Ingredients

1 cup water

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate or caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Prepare Choux Pastry: In a medium saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, add flour and salt all at once, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat.

Incorporate Eggs: Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.

Pipe the Pastry: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe small circles (about 1.5 inches in diameter) onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each puff.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and puffed. Do not open the oven door during baking. The cream puffs should be firm to the touch.

Cool Completely: Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut a small slit in the side of each puff to allow steam to escape.

Prepare the Cream Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Fill the Cream Puffs: Use a piping bag fitted with a small round tip to fill each cooled puff with whipped cream.

Drizzle (Optional): For an extra touch, drizzle melted chocolate or caramel sauce over the filled cream puffs before serving.

Prep Time: 20 mins | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 12 cream puffs

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the cream puffs on a decorative platter, dusted with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar for extra sweetness, and accompanied by extra sauce for dipping!
