Ingredients

1 pound of cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs

1 pound of bacon, cut in half

1 package of crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Bacon: Take the half strips of bacon and cook them in a skillet over medium heat until just slightly crispy. This will ensure they crisp up in the oven and not too chewy once baked. Drain on paper towels.

Wrap the Sausages: Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place a cocktail sausage at the wide end of each triangle, sprinkle with a bit of cheddar cheese, and then wrap the dough around the sausage, ensuring it’s tightly sealed.

Add Bacon Wrap: Take a half strip of bacon and wrap it around the crescent-wrapped sausage, securing it with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat until all sausages are wrapped.

Season: Place the wrapped sausages on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle them with maple syrup, then sprinkle with smoked paprika and black pepper for added flavor.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the bacon is crispy.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
