Ingredients

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Olive oil for frying

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Using your hands, mix all ingredients until they are just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep the meatballs tender.

Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should be able to make around 20 meatballs.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches (to avoid overcrowding the pan) and cook for about 5-6 minutes, flipping intermittently, until browned all over.

Once all meatballs are browned, transfer them to a plate.

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Gently place the meatballs back into the skillet, covering them with sauce. Reduce the heat to low and let them simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Carefully serve the meatballs with the sauce, garnished with fresh basil leaves. Enjoy your Ricotta Meatballs Delight!
