Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, your choice)

1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), drained

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until melted and well combined with the sausage.

Stir in the drained Rotel tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is fully incorporated. Remove from heat.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as per the package instructions.

Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle.

Carefully roll up each crescent, starting from the wide end and rolling to the point. Place the crescents on the prepared baking sheet, point side down.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh cilantro or chopped green onions before serving.

Serve warm, and enjoy the delicious combination of flavors!
