Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls

1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (Rotel)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease from the pan.

Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until melted and well incorporated with the sausage.

Stir in the can of Rotel tomatoes (with juices), shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and heated through. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.

While the mixture cools, unroll the crescent rolls on a clean, flat surface and separate them into triangles as per the can’s instructions.

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the sausage and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Roll them up tightly, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point.

Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro before serving.
