Ingredients

1 (8 oz) tube crescent roll dough

1 (10 oz) can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained

1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, your choice)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

Mix Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare Crescents: On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforations.

Fill and Roll: Spoon about a tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Carefully roll the dough starting from the wide end and tuck the ends under to secure the filling. Place them seam side down on the baking sheet.

Bake: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the crescents. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
