Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 bag (12 oz) tortilla chips

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)

1/2 cup sour cream

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain excess fat if necessary, then add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, and chili powder. Mix well and let simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Spread the tortilla chips in an even layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the chips, making sure to distribute it well.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the nachos.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and dollops of sour cream.

Garnish with fresh cilantro for a pop of color and freshness.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve directly from the baking sheet for a casual vibe or transfer to a large platter for easier serving. Consider using colorful serving bowls for sour cream and jalapeños on the side.
