Ingredients

4 cups sourdough bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed sourdough bread and olive oil. Toss to ensure each piece is well coated.

Add the minced garlic, dried oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Toss again until the bread cubes are evenly seasoned.

If you’re using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the bread cubes at this stage, then toss to combine.

Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the croutons are golden brown and crispy. Make sure to stir them halfway through baking for even cooking.

Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool completely.

If desired, garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving for a pop of color and flavor.
