Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for sprinkling)

Extra powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture.

Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

While the dough is rising, prepare the cheesecake filling. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth. Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the rolled dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top for added warmth.

Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the sweet rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Let the rolls cool slightly before dusting them with powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy your delightful Strawberry Cheesecake Sweet Rolls!
