Ingredients
  

4 cups water

4 black tea bags

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

    Once boiling, remove from heat and add the black tea bags. Cover and steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

      While the tea is steeping, prepare the strawberries. In a separate bowl, mash half of the sliced strawberries with a fork to release their juices. Keep the other half for garnish.

        After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in the granulated sugar while the tea is still warm, mixing until dissolved.

          Add the mashed strawberries and their juices to the sweetened tea along with the lemon juice. Stir well to combine.

            Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.

              To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled strawberry sweet tea over the ice, and garnish with the remaining sliced strawberries and fresh mint leaves.
