Ingredients

2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)

8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by taking the steaks out of the refrigerator and letting them come to room temperature, about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

Season the Steaks: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Cook the Steaks: In a large cast-iron skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side (for medium-rare) or to your desired doneness. After flipping, add 2 tablespoons of butter, garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet. Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steaks as they finish cooking, for about 2 minutes.

Rest the Steaks: Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let them rest while you prepare the shrimp.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper, and toss with the remaining garlic butter in the skillet.

Plate the Dish: Slice the rested steaks to your preferred thickness. On a serving platter, arrange the sliced steak and top with the garlic butter shrimp. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter from the skillet over the top.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
